A pretty cute site for the up-coming Foals album.

Indie/comic book movie directed by none other than Edgar Wright (Shaun of the dead/Hot Fuzz).

This is really just quite beautiful.

Meanwhile in Newcastle.
Frank Turner at Northumbria University was amazing, with support from the excellent Chuck Ragan and Crazy arms. I've listened to Frank for a while now and seeing him live in such an intimate gig was just so so good.
I also found out two things.
- I love live music
- You know you're a graphics student when you buy a t-shirt because of the design, not because of which band it is.

Screaming and traffic cones.
I went to see Underoath last night, they were pretty fucking good, but they would have been so much better if they hadn't just played everything off their newest album. I totally understand that they can't rely on those old songs forever, but hearing boy brushed in red live would have made my year. We are the ocean lived up to my expectations, having got to know a few more songs since seeing them last, but now i'm psyched up to see Frank Turner at Newcastle tomorrow because he's amazing and I love him.
I'm sat in Leeds at the minute thinking about making a start on the day, which will involve waking Jade up and texting Rob. I thought i'd have something deep and meaningful to reflect on but all realised is I think Leeds is my favorite place I frequent, even though I dont frequent it often enough.
Ps. I've found so much junk for the urban project, its not all going to fit on my scanner. Yay!

Urban Discovery.

March 10th

March 9th
For my new brief (the last this year) I have chosen to look at the items that are left around an urban environment, the tiny details that make up the scenery that we never really pay attention to. Everything has a story, where it started and how it got there, and I want to explore that. For example, I found the paper flower on March 9th in the womens toilets at the bar where I work whilst I was cleaning. Who made it? Left it there? Was it on purpose or by accident? Its all pretty interesting.

A perfect moment.
So i've done nothing today apart from try to think of the most perfect moment.
I started with the obvious, a sun set in a beautiful location, waking up next to someone you love, winning a major victory, all the obvious things.
But I reckon the most perfect moment is in the middle of a mosh pit.
Get into the middle, close your eyes and just hope for the best. Everything will be ok or you'll get kicked in the head by a 6ft Pantera fan, which I think is the most appropriate metaphor for life.
Stuff will happen, good or bad, and yeah you're going to get hurt but once you're down you get up, because if you don't you'll end up in a worse state (like A&E with 20 stitches in this example).
Mosh pits/life aren't about being the strongest or quickest or most popular. Its about being involved, actually getting in there and doing something, and falling over quite a few times.
It might just be me like.

Its Friday and i'm (insert clever parody of the cure song)
So i've pretty much been convinced to work at Leeds fest this year. Free entry in for four shifts of what I do at my job anyway? Plus staff camping (showers and security) sounds like a winner to me. The only problem would be getting time off work but I'm sure I can manage it. It would be pretty good to be able to work in an atmosphere like that, defiantly different to where I'm used to pulling pints and it counts as charity work too.
I've given up on work today (just a few more touches to do to the poster and its done) and have resigned myself to looking at gig posters on this class website I found.
Par example...

Posters are awesome.
